Camping

So, I know we said that camping was out this year, but since our new house wasn't going to be available right away, we ended up going after all!  This was the weekend of July 8-10th.

Before heading out that Friday, Evie asked me to paint her toenails.  Well.... Emily was just sitting there watching, and I know that she was just hoping that I would paint her toes next.  So I did.

Hehe, my girls are awesome.

It was a pretty perfect trip, with a lot of relaxing, visiting, and playing in the river.

Emily was ready to party as soon as we got there.
Whad up?

Yeah, that didn't last long.  Haha, she did pretty good out there, playing in her pack-n-play and on a big carpet that Epa had on the ground for her.  Yay for her first camping trip!

The water was pretty low, so the kids were able to play in the river a lot.

My J floating along on his back.

Our babies love New Braunfels.

On Saturday, we chilled out in the river again.
The kids tried to take Tia out with their water canons.

Me and my honeys. :o)
(Emily was hanging out with Lita back at the campsite.)

Posing with Tia.

And with Booger.

Crazy kids.  They loved playing with Vanessa.

We even had lunch by the side of the river.

Haha, poor Evelyn.  She played so hard that she passed out in a chair that night.
So yep, like I said, a lot of relaxing and doing nothing, which was great!

Last year (Spring 2010), Joshua got a tree from his school.  (I think it's a pine tree, but I don't really know.)  He's had it over a year and it's really outgrown its pot.  So Joshua decided that when we moved, he wanted to plant it at Epa and Lita's house.  So once we got back from camping, they got to planting his tree.

Epa started digging the hole for it, and then he let Joshua work on it for a while.  Even Evelyn got to do some digging.

J's tree has a new home now!  :o)

Next stop:  New Orleans...

Fourth of July

The next few posts are going to be kinda all over the place, but please bear with me as I try to get caught up.  :o)

Soooo, first we have 4th of July weekend.  We celebrated with lots of swimming and good food at Nana and Paw Paw's house.

The kids really love to swim and are getting so good at it!  Evelyn and Matthew still have some training to do, but Joshua's almost a pro.  :o)

Yeah, Emily took a nap outside, hehe.
Nick kept watch.

She didn't mind sitting with Paw Paw.  :o)

Later, Epa cut up a watermelon for everybody.
Emily says, "Nom, nom."

The next day, we visited with Aunt Jackie and Vanessa, and got to meet our new cousin Lana!
The kids couldn't stop talking about how little she was compared to our fat baby, haha.  They had fun playing in the water and jumping on the trampoline with Ava and Vanessa.

We visited with Maw Maw Gregory that week too.

And then we got to meet our other new cousins, Nathan and Lucas!

Emily just kept staring at them, hehe.
Posing with Lucas

I think she was trying to hold Nate's hand, awww.  I had to make sure that she didn't grab him too hard, hehe.

The kids got to go swimming with Emma, Noah and Vanessa, and then they had ice cream.

I love that we are close enough now to get to see everybody.  :o)

Emily Beth

Miss Emily was baptized last Sunday, August 21st. Yay, she's holy now! :o) Haha, jk. Everything went really well, except for the fact that she cried when anybody but me or Chris was holding her! Grrr, we're gonna have to work on that girl. Here are some pics of the big day.

So, like I said, she cried every time someone else tried to hold her, or touch her.
This is me and Godmother Aunt Jackie trying to get her dressed.

Lol, she's so silly. But we finally got the dress on her.
  It was sooo gorgeous.

She was much better once we were done messing with her.  Here we are in the car on the way to the church.  It was a short drive, so she rode on my lap.  There was no way I was gonna fight her to get the car seat belts around that dress.
She was much happier sitting with me.

The girls. :o)

Our family :o)

Emily says, "You're going to do what!?"

She didn't cry during this part, yay!

Daddy receives a blessing while Emily leans over to watch.

With the Godparents, Aunt Jackie and Uncle Jack.

With Maw Maw Hernandez.

Awww. (It almost looks like she's not crying here, but she was, hehe.)

Last pics in her beautiful dress.

I said that I was gonna make her wear it to church every week just cuz it's so pretty.  :o)

Happy baby!

She had 2 cakes (because sometimes one just isn't enough!)  And she got a few gifts too.
Here she's chewing on one gift while wearing the bow from another.

God bless you Emily!  Thanks to all our family and friends for celebrating with us!  We're praying that the Holy Spirit will help calm her whiny butt down, haha.  We shall see.   ;o)

First Day of School

Today was the kids' first day of school.  We woke up, got dressed, and made it to school on time, so success!  Woohoo!  They were all so excited.  I can't wait to hear about their first day when they get home.

Okay, well I tried to get this posted yesterday, but that was as far as I got before the day got hectic and I never made it back to the computer.  So let's try that again...

Yesterday was the kids' first day of school.  :o)  And thankfully, everything turned out great!

Here are my honeys wearing their cute matching uniforms.
It certainly makes picking out their clothes easier. ;o)

We live about 4 blocks from the school, so we will be walking each day.

Luckily, Chris was off work, so he was able to go with us!

The kids are supposed to report to the gym every day, and from there they go to their classrooms.
Evie was so excited to start Third Grade!

And there goes that big Fourth Grader!
And sorry, I was just smiling and waving so much that I forgot to take a picture of Matthew leaving for his first day of First Grade, haha.

The school provided their matching backpacks, and Chris hung up hooks for them in the library/dining room area.  Cute huh?

We walked back up to the school and picked them up yesterday without any problems.  Emily was very excited to see them. :o)
So proud of my babies!

Laters!
