Joyful January

Alrighty then - oh my!  Time is just flyin', and yes, it's almost April!  :oP  But that's okay.
I hope you enjoy these pics and moments from January.  :o)

Well, these are from New Year's Eve.
With Chris back home, the kids and I shopped for fireworks and rang in the new year at Aunt Jackie and Uncle Jack's house, and we had a wonderful time.

I just realized Emily is blowing 2 horns.  Haha!  :o)

Happy New Year!

Birthday yogurt with Vanessa.
And oh my - that little yogurt place was good.

When we got home, Ivy lost her mind and would not stop loving all over Emily's shoes!

Awww.

She even helped Chris put Emily's toys together.

Nothing better for our little weather-buff than making his own tornado in a bottle. ;o)

Joshua finished up a power point for a school project, and I got such a kick out of the duck picture he decided to use.
Isn't that awesome?  :oD  Okay, maybe it's just me.  ;oP

Matthew loved mining for stones and rocks in the kit he got for Christmas.

:o)

Back to our Library Story Time!
She's now a Pro with those scissors.

:o)

The boys found a way to sumo wrestle in the house.

Ha!

Our big girl.  :o)

With the kids back in school after Christmas break, these 2 are back together.
:o)

Hanging out before bed time.

Em was just too fab for these pics, ha!

On Friday the 9th, we stopped by the shelter to visit the cats.

It was pretty awesome.

They all loved her!  Yes, we're still thinking about getting a dog... or another cat, but we're still so unsure.  Guess we'll see!

Matthew and His Weird Books - Part 26
Alien Encounters & Black Holes
Lol, oh my boy.  ;o)

He Reading Level was re-evaluated and man -
His level of instruction was a 10.8!  That's 10th grade!!
He's now allowed to check out book from between 4.8 and 11.1!  :oO
Wow, Go Matthew!!  :oD

On the 14th, Emily and I attended the Breakfast of Champions.

It was a brunch to celebrate all the middle school kids who were on the Principal's List for the 2 previous grading quarters.  So both Joshua and Evelyn were there!

They each received a special Eagle pin.

And they were 2 out of only 22 students.
:oD  So proud!

:o)

Then we visited Evelyn's class to see her give a presentation on her Cultural Dish project.

Emily liked getting to sample all the food the students brought to share.
What did Evelyn pick as her Cultural Dish - why Beans of course! Lol!  :'oD

Later that same evening, the girls and I headed to Saenger Theatre to watch the Broadway musical Mamma Mia!

Evelyn got tickets for Christmas and we were soooo excited!
(And those boys were sooo happy to sit this one out. Ha!)

While Evelyn and I were singing and dancing the night away, Emily only made it as far as Intermission.
I warned her, "But Emmy, if you go to sleep, you'll miss the rest of the show!"  She said, "That's okay, I can watch the movie when I get home,"  :oD

That weekend, Evelyn met up with her fellow Honor Band participants to prepare for their show.

They met on Friday, practiced about 6 hours on Saturday, and performed on Sunday - woah!

And she was so excited about the shirt!

See!  There's her name!  4th chair Flute!  Go Evie!  :oD

And the big performance was so exciting!

They were amazing.  So cool that she got to be part of this.  :o)

Here are videos of a couple of the songs they did.

:oD

I found this while cleaning one day... I knew they were trying to make a movie/video using Joshua's camera for filming, so I assume this was the title card or something...
But oh my, I just can't help but smile and be proud at their understanding of irony.  :o)

On the 21st, Emily was back at Story Time.
She always has such a good time!

Quick video:

She says she made the necklace for Daddy.
Chris was actually away at training in Virginia for the week, so she was missing him a lot.  :o)

Later we went to a Mommy and Me get together.

Which was so fun for her!

Matthew and His Weird Books - Part 27
Epilepsy!

Emmy had to get in on the pic.

And Emily and Ivy

Another one already??  Okay.
Matthew and His Weird Books - Part 28
Asthma  :oP

We got to go to Mommy and Me again on the 28th.
Which is the only place she's allowed to play with play-doh.  ;o)

What a great puppet!

Check out her flower crown.
:o)

And just before the first weekend of Mardi Gras, we got our stash out and started decorating the house - which she was sooo happy about!

And that was January.  :o)
Obviously, a lot has happened since then.  I better keep working!  ;o)

Laters!
