Monday:
Emily kept going around the house, hitting the ball over and over with that stick, and saying something I couldn't understand.
And it took me all day, but I finally realized that she was saying Baseball!!
Haha, the stick was sitting on my desk, and she was asking me to give it to her saying, "Ba-ball, ba-ball?" and I realized that's what she was saying every time she hits the ball! Haha, I guess with us always talking about the kids' baseball stuff, my girl thinks she can play too. :o)
Matthew and Joshua both had practice that evening, so Chris went to J's and I took Matt-dog.
Hit it Matthew!
He's getting better at hitting the ball when it's pitched to him.
Hi Evie!
He was supposed to have a game on Wednesday, but all games and practices were canceled for the rest of the week because of end-of-the-year exams and Memorial Day weekend. So we really enjoyed our week off. :o)
Tuesday:
Evelyn kept dropping the baby on Emily to make her laugh.
:o)
And man, Emily really loves Dora now. She always wants to watch it while sitting in the little Dora chair we have.
Now, she even responds to the show. When Dora says to watch out for Swiper, Emily watches and as soon as she sees him she points and says, "No! No! NO!" - like she's mad at him, haha. In this pic here, she waves her hand at Swiper to say "No swiping!" with Evelyn's help. :o)
Daddy with his girls. :o)
Wednesday:
Emily chased Joshua around the house before school.
Haha, the kids always think it's funny until she runs into them! ;o)
Emily has started to put her diaper bag on her arm like a purse every time we leave to go anywhere. And if I try to take it, she gets really upset because she wants to carry it.
And she's also started bringing her puppy to the store instead of the baby doll, nerd. :oP
We got back in time for lunch, but while I was still making my food, she suddenly got really quiet.
Haha, yeah, she passed out. Guess all that shopping wore her out again. ;o)
Oh - so that's why the back of the high chair reclines! I've never used it before, but yeah, she had a good nap.
Joshua brought home his Coat of Arms Shield that he made in school.
They just finished up a whole lesson on the Middle Ages where they studied all sorts of cool stuff about knights, castles, and life during that period, while reading the book "Ella Enchanted". (Too cool!) He said that he chose the color yellow because it meant Generosity and black because he thought it meant Peace, but he wasn't sure. The wolf stands for someone you don't want to get in a fight with. When he showed it to me, he also apologized, "Mom, I didn't realize that I was doing Saints colors until I was done and somebody said I did, but I promise it doesn't mean Saints or Steelers at all!" Hahaha, I love that child. :o)
Thursday:
Thursday was a really big day for everybody!
Joshua got to dress down for doing so well on his LEAP tests.
Oh yeah - the LEAP scores!
I got his official scores in, but I won't bore you with the specific numbers. But yes, he did score Advanced in Math and Science, and Mastery (not Mastered like I thought) in Language Arts and Social Studies!
And Evelyn also got her scores for the practice LEAP that she took and she got Advanced in Math and Language Arts, and Mastery in Science and Social Studies! Woohoo! They both worked so hard and we're so proud of them! We hope to have a big celebratory dinner soon, kids' choice of course. :o)
Emily played too hard or something.
Haha, one minute she was playing, the next minute she was passed out, hehe, maybe I need to start putting her to bed earlier or something.
Alright, after her nap, Emily and I went to the school for the BCA Awards Ceremonies!
The First and Second Grade ceremony was first. Check out that boy-
He received a medal for being on the Principal's List all 4 quarters!!
(And no, I haven't received their report cards yet, so we were very happy to hear he made the List again!)
Matthew also received certificates for a few other things, but I'll list them below with that pic.
We had to wait a while for the next ceremony to start, so Emily worked on her coloring skills for a while.
Time for the Third and Fourth Grade ceremony!
Evelyn also received the Principal's Medal!
And then - she received the Eagle Award for being the most outstanding girl student in all of 3rd Grade!!!
"BCA Eagle Award: An Eagle Student is chosen by his/her teachers and recognized for being outstanding in all areas consisting of academics, enrichment, and conduct, participation in school activities, character, and school spirit."
This little video is only of them announcing her name, and then I turned off the camera so I could take pictures, sorry!
She didn't know that she was getting it, so she was very surprised and very happy! :o) Go Evelyn!!
Joshua also got the Principal's Medal!
Even though we're pretty sure he's got a couple of B's, his other grades were high enough to bring his overall average over the 94.5 mark to be on the List, so go Joshua!!
Quick pic before they headed back to class.
Evelyn was also recognized for Excellence in Music, Theater, Accelerated Reader, Outstanding Conduct, P.E., and not losing her school ID card all year, haha.
Joshua was also recognized for Excellence in Music, Accelerated Reader, and not losing his ID. :o)
Emily really liked Evelyn's eagle trophy.
And she almost gave Evie a heart attack when she tried to make it fly, hehe.
I didn't get a pic of Matthew until he got home.
He was also recognized for Excellence in Music, Citizenship, Outstanding Conduct, and not losing his ID card.
I had the kids line up for a pic, so Emily walked over and stood with them without me asking, haha. :o)
Oh - and they each got a $5 gift card to Barnes and Noble for not losing their IDs! (They cost $5 to replace.) And Joshua and Evelyn each got $5 Target gift cards for meeting their Accelerated Reader goals for the year! Dude, we are soooooo proud of them! :oD
We spent the afternoon playing outside.
And Emily took her puppy and baby doll for a walk.
Eww, and Joshua caught another freakin' lizard. It was so yuck, but he was holding it! So I had to take a fast picture. :oP
Friday:
Again, I had the big kids line up for a picture, so Emily stopped what she was doing to run over and be in the picture too!
:o)
"Look Mommy, we're both wearing headbands today! Take our picture together!" :o)
The kids had a half-day, so they were home early.
Joshua brought home a castle that he made in class and said that he might try to use it for a Beyblade arena.
We made a trip to Target so the kids could buy some gaming accessories, and then we all went to Emily's 18 month doctor appointment. The doctor said that Emily is doing great, with no lasting effects from her wheezing/cold thing a few weeks ago. Stats:
Weight: 26 lbs., 9 oz. - 75th percentile
Height: 37 inches - 50-75th percentile
She also got a shot, and dude - she was so excited about (and distracted by) the Dora sticker that the doctor handed her, that she didn't even cry when she got the shot! :o)
We had packed our dinner because we were heading straight to Joshua's baseball practice after the appointment, but we got done with that early, so we ran home and had a picnic outside.
Then Daddy got off work early, so he took Joshua to practice, so the kids had extra time to play outside. :o)
Yes, Evelyn got a sticker at the doctor too. :o)
And dude - Emily barks.
Haha, yeah, she now barks every time she sees a dog, outside or on TV. She stood out there and barked at that dog for about 5 minutes, so funny! :o)
Saturday:
The kids got a congratulations package in the mail from Booger.
And it was full of sweet treats!
Emily especially loved the white chocolate covered strawberries decorated like baseballs!
Aren't those so cute? Yeah, they were on sugar-highs the rest of the day. :o) Thanks Booger!
We put the pool out and spent the day playing in the water.
"Uh... what about me?"
No worries Emily - I redeemed my Pampers points (like Coke points) and got Emily this toddler Sprinkle and Splash mat.
She wasn't too sure about it at first, but once Evelyn started showing her how to splash and play, she had a great time.
Matthew didn't feel like swimming, so he played with Emily too.
He brought all her little duckies and fish out for her to play with.
"Hmmm... that kinda looks like a water fountain... I wonder....."
"Oh yeah!" ;o) And that's what she did the rest of the time she was out there, haha.
Sunday:
Quick pic before church!
:o)
And since we had the pool out the day before, we decided that we needed another way to stay cool outside.
So grab them rags kids, cuz we are washing the car!! :o)
Man, they had a blast.
They scrubbed and threw rags, but mostly just threw water.
Even Emily got into it. She watched the kids as they rinsed out their rags the first few times, and then she walked right over and stuck her rag in the soapy water right up to her elbows, haha.
Yeah, they were all soaked by the time they went in the house, and Chris and I ended up finishing the car of course, but it was fun for a while.
And then - the best part of all - we got to put my new stickers on the car!!
I always see those little family stickers on the backs of cars, and there are so many different ones, but could never make up my mind about if I really wanted them or not, until I saw these! And the kids liked picking out which character they wanted. Joshua decided that he wanted to be Yoda because, "He's the oldest and the wisest, just like me." Haha. I wanted to make Emily a stormtrooper, but the kids out-voted me and made her an Ewok instead. But I just love it!!! :o)
Memorial Day:
I only had a couple pics from Monday, so I decided to go ahead and share them. We spent the day trying to do nothing, and mostly succeeded. :o)
It was another great day outside, so we decided to hook up the hose and just let the kids battle it out to keep cool.
Haha, yeah, that didn't last long. We ended up getting the pool out and our neighbors put their pool out, so the kids spent a few hours jumping from pool to pool, shooting each other with water canons, and just having a great day.
We just sat around outside, listenin' to some jams, and chillin' with the neighbors. Chris even put on his swim trunks and helped Emily play in the big kid pool in her new swimsuit.
Hehe. :o)
And that night, Matthew lost his other front tooth!
Okay, so yeah, Joshua helped him lose this one too. As Matthew laughingly put it, "Joshua said to tickle his foot, so I did, and he kicked me in the mouth, and my tooth came out!" They thought it was the funniest thing ever, but oooh, I was not happy with Joshua. But oh well. Matthew was happy it came out, so I wasn't too hard on that other fool. :oP But yeah, my poor toothless child! He's so cute. :o)
And that's it. I can't believe it's already Tuesday. I had originally planned to do the blog yesterday, but honestly didn't even think about it being Monday until yesterday afternoon, haha. Joshua and Evelyn have practice today, and all three kids have games tomorrow! (Eek!) But school's out on Thursday, so hopefully things will slow down for a bit. :o) Hope everybody has a great week!
Laters!
