Who Will Buy

...this wonderful morning?!  We're feeling pretty good here in sunny New Orleans.  Another good week too.  Evie started her cheerleading, Joshua joined the Photography Club, Matthew wants to join the Computer Club now (but only until Bowling starts, he said), and Emily really likes food.    :o)

Monday:
Monday seems to be our easy day.
Emily says, "Every day is an easy day for me!"

Joshua had his first meeting with the Photography Club.  They learned some stuff about developing and made a small project.  He really likes it.  I know that he is super-busy with football, but I think it's good for him to have another club since football only lasts through October.

Just a quick pic of Evie doing homework.
Despite how busy we all seem to be, we spend lots of time studying too, so they're all doing really great in school.

Dude, check out this look!
"Don't judge me.  Pop tarts are the bomb!"

Wednesday:
We took some quick pics before school.
Emily really likes the walk to and from school each morning.  She sees the kids putting on their backpacks and lining up by the door, so she knows to go to the stroller and wait for me to put her in.  She always waves bye to them and then falls asleep on the way back, haha.

Joshua went to his Computer Club for the first time.  He had a lot of fun and now Matthew wants to join the Computer Club too, as long as it doesn't interfere with his Bowling Club in January, he says.  :o)

Evie had her first Cheerleading practice.  She came home and performed all her new cheers for me.  :o)

Matthew was excited to show me that he spelled "chaos" with the wooden puzzle.
The little nerd probably learned that one from his Sonic game (where he collects Chaos Emeralds.)

This is the picture that Evelyn brought home from church class.
She said that they were supposed to draw a picture of their favorite thing that God has created.  My girl is so sweet.  :o)

The kids also all had dentists appointments.  And I'm happy to report that they have zero cavities!  But J and Evie do have to go back next week for sealants to protect their molars.

Thursday:
Evie with her cute cheerleader ponytail and bow.
Due to an error, some of the girls on the JV squad received their cheerleading uniforms already and some did not.  Unfortunately, Evelyn did not get hers yet.  So the coach said that she, and the other few girls, did not have to cheer if they would feel weird or uncomfortable about it.

But dude, my girl is brave and said that was no problem at all.
Woohoo!  Go Evie!

Sorry I didn't get more pictures.  She was a little hidden and I was trying not to distract her too much.
But she was so excited and happy and can't wait to do it again!  So proud! :o)

Saturday:
Joshua had a project to do that required him to find the newspaper from the day he was born and answer some questions.  At first I thought, "Okay, that'll be easy, we'll just google it!"  But then I realized that the project required him to to go to the library and do the research.  Isn't that awesome?!

After visiting our local library, and having them tell us that they didn't keep archives past 1 year (and that they didn't even know how to work the Microfilm machine), we realized that we would have to visit the main New Orleans Public Library to find the info.
And I'm so glad that we did.
I was worried that it would be complicated to drive to and find parking, etc., but it was really easy.  All the kids got their own library cards.  Chris took the little ones to the Children's section while Joshua and I visited the Archives section and he found his newspaper!  He really liked using the microfilm machine too.  I think that it's great that he learn to do research the old, real way, you know?

The kids posed with the Lego New Orleans statue in the Children's Section.  They all checked out a couple of books each and we look forward to going back.

After the library trip, we went to church (because Chris had duty on Sunday).  Later, Chris was horseplaying with the kids while I snapped a few pictures, and I caught this moment:
Hahaha, I just think it's so funny!  :o)

Sunday:
We took some pics of the kids' rooms.
Emily posed with her crib, which is in our bedroom.

The boys love their room.
They have all their old posters up and a few new ones too.

And here's Evie's room.
She's very happy with her room too.  We'd like to move Emily in here eventually, but I gotta get that girl to sleep through the night first!  ;o)

When Chris got home, he gave Emily some flying lessons.
Hehe.

Oh - and my baby girl turned 10 months on Sunday!
She's got 3 teeth in and is working on the 4th.  And under Chris' supervision, she climbed all the way up to the top of the stairs!

So yep, that's it.  Joshua didn't have a football game this weekend because they play on Tuesday night.  Go Eagles!  And just so there's no confusion, GO COWBOYS too!!  ;o)

And here's a sneak peek preview of Halloween....

 Hehe, Laters!  :o)

Barracuda

Hello!  I know, I did the blog on time, yay! Go me!  ;o)  Both of the kid bedrooms are now completely unpacked and decorated, yay!  But I forgot to take pictures, so I'll get those next week.  We had a good week.  Here's some highlights.

Monday:
We had a pretty easy Monday.
Emily read a few books.  The bottom shelf on 2 of our bookshelves are all Emily books, mostly board books.  It's so funny, cuz she knows which ones are hers and always goes straight to them.  She really likes the touch and feel books.  :o)

When the kids got home from school, Matthew made her a trail out of the little puffies that she eats.  I told him he was silly, but I guess it worked cuz she followed it.

Joshua's football practice got cancelled, so the kids got to ride their bikes.
Joshua is great on 2 wheels!

Evelyn's really good too, she just keeps begging Chris to follow her "just in case."

Matt-dog is still on training wheels, but we'll be fixing that soon.  :o)

Wednesday:
The kids' school had Open House on Wednesday.   Joshua had football practice, so after church class, Chris took J to football, and the rest of us hit the school.
Matthew loves that his classroom is done in a Dr. Seuss theme (they even have a fish!) and Evelyn's teacher said that Evie has already been a big help in the classroom.  They're all doing really good and enjoying the new school.  :o)

Although Joshua wasn't there, we stopped by his classroom and the kids had posted poems regarding what they liked about themselves titled, "The Best Part of Me."  This is Joshua's:
It reads:
My hands, my hands, my great, grand hands, they help me throw the ball to a football goal.  My hands, my hands help me pray when midnight strikes.  My hands help everyone.

:o)

Friday:
Friday was jean day at school, so all the kids got to wear jeans with their spirit shirts.
Emily says, "What are jeans?"

Chris got Emily this new toy bin on Thursday.  She really likes pulling all the toys down, haha, but at least now she can get to them and we have somewhere to throw them when we clean up.

Emily also got a new car seat!
She's outgrown her infant seat, and she can't face forward until she's 20 pounds AND 1 year old.  We'll turn this spiffy new chair around after her birthday in November.  I think she likes it.  ;o)

And later, she passed out on the walk to the school to pick up the kids, hehe.
Chillin' like a villain.

Saturday:
Game Day!
Joshua had his first football game, yay!

My big boy is #2 on the Eagles team.  Although he practiced a lot on offense, he mostly played defense on Saturday.

He's got his eye on that ball!

Chillin' during halftime.

Lined up, ready to go.  My boy played pretty serious.

And even though he never did it in practice, somehow he ended up snapping the ball a couple of times too, haha.

Unfortunately they lost, booo.  Yeah, his team's a little unorganized, but that's okay because J had a great time!

He can't wait to play again next Tuesday.

Go Bubba!  :o)

Sunday:

Quick photo before church.

So yep, great week.  I think this one's gonna be awesome too.  Evelyn is starting her cheerleading and will cheer at her first game on Thursday (middle school volleyball game).  Matthew's bowling club has been postponed until January because they had 65 students sign up! (For bowling?!)  But he's cool with waiting, and we're looking to see what else he can do for now.  (Maybe karate)  :o)  I'll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!

Laters!  :o)

Amazing

Hello!  These past couple of weeks have continued to be busy for us around here.

Check out my football player!  First game is this coming Saturday.  Woohoo!

The kids go to school every day from 8:00 to 3:30.  Evie has her Drama Club meetings on Tuesday from 3:45 to 4:45, and all the babies have church school on Wednesday from 4:45 to 6:00.  Matthew hasn't started Bowling yet, but as you know, Joshua has football practice every day from 6:00 to 7:30.  So last week was all kinds of crazy!  But we survived, and even though all our weeks might be crazy, we're doing awesome!  :o)

Thursday, Sept. 1
We got some more toys unpacked for the kids, so they decided to put on a show for Emily.
She loved the puppets!

That's as close as she would get, then she would pull back really fast, hehe.

My nerds love making her smile.

Saturday, Sept. 3
Yay for another great birthday party!  We all really enjoyed having everyone come celebrate with us.  I didn't get too many pictures, but here are a few:
Emily tries out the Pebbles look.

Hi Evie and Matthew!

Me with my Maw Maw Gregory.

The awesome birthday sign.

Look-- She's not crying!  Quick, take a picture!  Hehe. ;o)

Look at those cheesy puffs eating cheesy puffs.  So cute!

My babies are getting big.

:o)

Hey - no wonder Matthew's candles didn't go out.  His were the farthest away!  ;o)

Sunday, Sept. 4
The next day, we got together for a Nutt family picture.
We'll have to take a new one around Christmas time.  :o)

We got home safely that night, despite all the rain that had passed over our area because of the tropical storm.  It's very comforting to know that our neighborhood/house did well with so much rain, i.e. no flooding, good draining.

Wednesday:
Emily had her 9 month doctor visit.  And I'm very happy to say that we found a good pediatrician for the kids.  She was really nice and great with Emily.
The girl weighs 19 lbs. 9 oz. (50-75th percentile) and is 28 1/2" long/tall (75th percentile).  Oh - and the doctor said that she has a big head.  Haha, her head circumference was in the 90-95th percentile!  But it's no big deal, just kinda funny.

Later, Emily was helping me sort through the kids' birthday cards.  (We taped them up to display around the bar but I forgot to take a picture.)  Anyhow, she found one card that she really liked.

It's a singing card, and you know how my girl loves to dance.

It took her a few minutes to get going, but the kids let her have the card.  It's all bent up now, but she crawls around with it and makes it sing by herself.  :o)

Sunday:
Last but not least, we went to the store this Sunday after church, and the kids picked up a few games with some of their birthday money.
I took this picture this morning before school.
Joshua got a Pokemon DS game, Matthew got a Sonic DS game, and Evie got a Zhu Zhu Pet DS game and a Mario Wii game.  (The boys could have gotten another one also, but they couldn't make up their minds, so they want to think about it and go back next weekend.)  :o)

Have a great week.  Laters!
