We started the year off right.
By napping.
Ha!
Poor sleepy kiddos.
For Vanessa's birthday, we visited Sector 6 -
a giant indoor trampoline world.
I'm not sure if you can see them, but all 5 kids are in this picture, jumping their little hearts out.
:o)
Check out the video of those crazy fools trying to walk on a tightrope-
And the adventures of Emily-
:o)
Later that evening, we went to Celebration in the Oaks, which is the giant New Orleans Christmas lights display in City Park.
Everything was so beautiful.
And we met Mr. Bingle!
(another New Orleans Christmas tradition)
Ahahaha!
We finished off our fantastic day with birthday cake for Vanessa.
:oD
On January 4th, we attended Chris' Advancement Ceremony.
:o)
He chose Joshua and I to remove his old anchors and replace them with the new ones signifying his higher rank.
:o)
We are so very proud of him. :oD
Matthew, Emily, and I made a weekend trip to Houston on the 9th to go to Aunt Christina's Baby Shower.
It was a fun, quick visit. :o)
Yep, still in braces, just a few more months J!
On the 12th, I attended the Breakfast of Champions with Evelyn and Joshua, a reward for middle school students with really high grades.
:oD
Joshua got a new piece for his band uniform this year - a gold armband!
(sorry, he wouldn't pose with it, so I made him hold it up for the pic :oP)
What does it mean? That he is the Section Leader!
Leader of the Saxophones! :oD
Way to go Joshua!
Emily loves new nail polish.
:o)
Emily has officially moved up to the big girls class at gymnastics.
So while Evelyn is in the more advanced group, she and Emily now have class at the same time.
It's hard to see Evie here, but she's on the left in the back. And Emily is on the right in the front. :o)
I love that Timehop app.
#StillBeautiful
Matthew's class had presentations for their Explorers Project.
Matthew gave a great speech about Juan Ponce de Leon. :o)
Dude, check this out.
Not sure if you can really see it, but that's an old picture of Evelyn on the screen. Emily says that they look the same. :o)
Evelyn's been working on this poster-sized coloring sheet since Christmas.
Almost done!
On January 24th, Evelyn marched in the first parade of the season - the Krewe of Little Rascals.
She was very excited!
On the same day, Joshua missed out on the parade because he was performing with the District VI Honor Band.
He was so happy to be part of the band this year, and we were so proud!
Here are videos of the 4 songs they performed. I love them!
That boy is so cool. :o)
To celebrate, we ordered pizza! Emily and Ivy eagerly awaited its arrival.
And Evelyn finished her picture!
So pretty. :o)
"Hey Mom, guess what I'm doing now??"
What??!
So apparently Joshua can play the clarinet now. :oP
Ha, he's actually really good at it, but he seems to be preferring the Sax again lately. :o)
Well, on the 31st, Emily and I made a really fast trip into Houston to meet and welcome her new cousin - Isabella!
Check out this sweetness:
:oD
And that was how we ended our January.
Laters!
