Baby It's Cold Outside

For Real.  Brrrr!  Seriously.

Anyhow - despite the frigid temps, we are having a great start to our new year!  The kids played the week away, school started back up yesterday, and parade season is around the corner.  :o)  Christmas was nothing short of amazing, and I have a ton of pics to share!  :oD

So, Friday, December 13th was the Winter Dance for Middle School students, and somebody had no intention of going...
until a girl asked him to go!
Yep, so he busted out the bow tie.  ;o)

EEEEEK!  Yeah, that's his "girlfriend".
(Excuse me while I run and hide from this madness.)  ;oP

Altar Server Christmas Party

Our littlest littles, actually being nice to each other.  ;o)

:o)

December 17th was the annual Nativity Play at our church.
Joshua was a shepherd.

Evelyn played a cow.

And Matthew pretended to be an angel.  ;o)

Matthew!  You're too short to be in the back!

:o)

Yeah, Emmy missed the whole thing.  :oP

Lol!

Matthew was lookin' My T Sharp after getting his hair cut.

And Emily helped me finish up some gift-wrapping.

Joshua got all dressed up to perform at the Celebration at BCA with the band.

And Matthew has music this quarter, so his class got to perform too!
Follow the big yellow arrow there to find him.  ;o)

They sang lots of Christmas carols, and he knew all the words!

:oD

Later, Joshua's band performed.

Yay for big yellow arrows!  ;o)

I think he sees me!

They were so cute up there! Take a bow.  :o)

After the show, Evelyn showed me her Christmas artwork that was hanging in the hallway.  :o)

The chef's apprentice was a big help making Christmas goodies.

Are you kidding?  Of course she licked the spoon!  :o)

Later, she waddled over to the kitchen wearing Evie's skates!  Eek!

After rescuing her (for real - she would've cracked her head open on that floor!!) I put her back to work to keep her out of mischief.
:o)

And later that night, guess who stopped by our house...
Santa!

And funny story - So everyone was awake, but no one had gone downstairs yet, so they didn't know that Santa had visited.  We asked Matthew if he would go down and get a water bottle.  So he goes down, and Chris and I are waiting and waiting, and he comes back and hands me the water and says nothing.  And we're just like, "Uh.... everything alright down there?"  And he's just like, "Yep, everything's fine."  And sits down like nothing happened!

So we turn to Joshua, and ask him to go downstairs to look for my cell phone, and when he left, Matthew grins at me and says, "I think I have a secret about downstairs, but I'm not sure if I should say anything..."  Lol!  About that time, Joshua says, "Um, guys - y'all need to come down here!  I think Santa came.  Well... there's stuff down here!"  Haha!
And then we all ran downstairs and had a truly grand morning.  :o)

Then we packed up our stuff and headed to Houston!

And later that night, we got to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
And it was in 3-D.  And it was EPIC.
I'd never seen a movie in 3-D and I am soooo glad we got to experience this movie that way.  Wow, I was just blown away.  Chris and the kids too.  Besides the 3-D, it was a fantastic movie, and we can't wait for the third part to come out next year!  :o)

Time to celebrate Christmas with our Gregory Family!

We had a really great time visiting with everyone, playing Christmas jeopardy, and exchanging white elephant gifts.
And look - Evie got a bottle of... milk!  :oD

Christmas Eve
Time to celebrate Christmas at Lita and Epa's house!

Matthew's new motto.  ;o)

Obviously, Emily thought Matthew's gift was just fabulous.  Hehe.

Lol!

Emmy just decided to hug Evelyn out of the blue, so I guess she was just happy about Evie's new helmet.  :o)

Doctor Who stuff!  Woohoo!!

Then we headed to Maw Maw Hernandez's house to celebrate Christmas with our Hernandez peoples!
Haha - I love this!

It's a grinch!

It was a very late night, and yes, Joshua was asleep.

HA HA HA!
We woke him up, but Yes - he's asleep again!  Poor J.  ;o)

Christmas Day!

We're wearing our party clothes!

:o)

:oD

Merry Christmas!

Let's do some celebratin' with our Rodriguez Family!

Joshua was a great Joseph in our family Nativity.

Our little angels - Evelyn and Emily.

and King Matthew!

And Wow - a few more gorgeous pics taken by our cousin.

:o)

Even Santa showed up to the party!

And a good time was had by all.  :o)

Party time at Nana and Paw Paw's with our Nutt Family!

Little pretzel monster.

:o)

I tried to get her to look at me and say cheese, but she kept going, "Cheeeeese," while looking at her new tablet, haha. ;o)

No Evie, don't shoot!

We had such a wonderful time in Houston. :o)

Back home, the kids eagerly took their new bikes out for a spin.

And one of those fools left this little joke for me to find.
Very funny kids.
Not.  ;o)

Evelyn completed all of her sand art sculptures in one sitting.  :oD

And one evening, Chris and I were watching TV downstairs while the kids played upstairs, when I looked over and saw this...
Wow.  No.  No, that's not creepy. At. All.
;o)

New Year's Eve!
Emmy got in an early nap. :o)

And the big midgets and I completed the last book in The Lord of the Rings!
Wow, it seriously took us right about a year to read together.  But man, it was an awesome adventure.  Over the next few days, we embarked upon a Lord of the Rings movie watching marathon, and we finally got to show them The Return of the King!  (Or as I refer to it, the Best Movie EVER.)  ;o) Oh man, so much fun.  We're now trying to decide what books we should read next... :oD

We stayed up late and rang in the new year with confetti, horns, and some amazing nutella hot chocolate.

Happy New Year!

Emmy, are you wearing a pony tail?!

Lol, too cute.

Later, she helped Evelyn and her friend make the most delicious cookies!  They did it all by themselves.  (With a little supervision nearby, of course.)  Seriously, they put them in the oven, timed them, and everything.  Very cool.  :o)

I told her to smile big...
Goodness, doesn't she look like she's plotting my demise or something?  Crazy child.  ;oP

And well, here we are!  The kids are back to school and they are really ready to tackle this new quarter.  Oh - I almost forgot, we got their Report Cards in the mail over Christmas break!

Joshua's GPA:  94.6
Evelyn's GPA:  98.0
Matthew's GPA:  99.0
Oh yeah!!

All three of those little fools made the Principal's List this time! Yay!!
Wow, what hard workers they are.  So proud, so proud.  :oD

Okay, so yep, back to school, back to going to bed early and getting up even earlier.  :o)  Joshua and Evelyn are marching in the Krewe of Little Rascals on February 16th, and Joshua will also march in the Krewe of Isis on March 1st.  Oh - and Evie's Cheerleaders are performing a dance before the New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) game on January 18th!  And we're all going to go!  So that will be most exciting.  :o)

Hope everyone enjoyed this Christmas season as much as we did.  Stay warm my friends!

Laters!
