The Third Little Pig
Man, we just had a really awesome but tough week! Tough because Chris, Emily and I were battling colds all week. Booo! Chris and I are finally starting to feel better, but poor Emily is just getting to the worst part. But no worries, we're taking good care of the monster-baby.
Luckily, the three big kids have stayed healthy (thanks Lysol!). The kids' school teaches and encourages different character traits for the kids, so this week, they had a big "Character Counts!" week at school. The kids got to wear different colors and shirts each day, which was really exciting for them.
Monday:
Tuesday:
Emily was quiet for me for a while..... too quiet.
Wednesday:
Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the kids in Wednesday's color - yellow for Respect. But they were cute, I promise! ;o)
Oh - and when they came home from school, they were all wearing yellow bands because of their excellent behavior. So they would get to wear jeans for free on Friday again. Woohoo!
Thursday:
Friday:

Saturday:
Sunday:
And that's about it. The kids have another Spirit Week at school (Red Ribbon Week), so I'll be sure to take lots of pics. Also it's Report Card time! The kids bring their report cards home tomorrow, so wish them luck! ;o)

Monday:
Monday's color was royal blue for Trustworthiness. Evelyn wore her regular shirt because she had to cheer at a pep rally.
So, Emily can stand on her own.
She says, "Check out my hi-tops."
However, she refuses to take any steps! After she lets go of me or the coffee table, she just slowly sits down, like, "Yeah, right, I'm not walking." :oP
Matthew has been constantly building things with his legos this week.
This was his creation on Monday. I'm not sure what it is (a garage maybe?) but it's cool! :o)
Tuesday:
Tuesday's color was green for Responsibility.
The kids posed with their new Halloween pencils that Aunt Mary made for them. Thanks Aunt Mary!
They tried to pose with Emily, but she was waaaayy too interested in trying to get and eat their pencils, hehe.
Emily was quiet for me for a while..... too quiet.
Yeah, she got and emptied her container of puffies all over the floor.
But how can I get mad at that face.

Thursday:
Wear your favorite jersey day!
The night before, Joshua asked me if it was alright with me if he wore his Eagles team football jersey instead of his Cowboys one. And as much as it pained me, I said yes. ;o)
They really all looked great. Emily was excited to see them in their jerseys too.
I thought all the other kids might be in Saints gear, but on the way to school, we saw kids wearing Redskins, Browns, Astros and even some Cowboys jerseys! I forget sometimes that we live on a military base, so we're all from somewhere else, haha. :o)
"Dude, check out my hat."
I caught Emily trying to escape out the back door while I brought in some groceries.
Later, Matthew showed off his lego skills again.
Dude, he spelled my name! Can you see it?! I guess he was going for brownie points or something. ;o) Sweet boy.
And check out the sweet baby.
Every time Chris said, "Lay down on Daddy." She would put her head down on him like this. Awwww.
Friday's color was orange for Fairness. But not for Matt-Dog!
Matthew had a special day. He had to pick his favorite book, dress up as his favorite character, and do an oral report on his book in class.
Matthew decided that his favorite story was The Three Little Pigs, and that he wanted to be the Third Little Pig. When asked why he chose that character, he said, "Because he worked the hardest and was the smartest pig because he defeated the Big Bad Wolf."
Go Matthew! (Matt-pig?)
Hehe, all the kids were excited about it being Friday.
They tried to take a picture with Emily, but she wouldn't stop staring at Matthew, haha.
"Dude, check out THIS hat."
We were invited to Matthew's classroom to watch his oral presentation.
And he did so good! He spoke loud and clear and said that his character, "likes to build brick houses. But my character does not like to get eaten by wolves." Hehe. :o)
Quick side note - I think Emily's hair is finally starting to grow. ;o)
Later, the kids enjoyed some sunshine.
Evelyn can now ride her bike without any assistance at all.
Go big girl!
Joshua fell down once pretty good (pretty bad?). He said that he was trying to do a trick. Goodness. So of course, Daddy had to get out there and show him how it's done:
Hahaha, I can see a few more falls in Joshua's future already. ;o)
Emily's so cool. ;o)
Saturday:
Emily stole my fork while we were eating breakfast.
I guess she's tired of eating with her hands.
Hehe, yes, I'm giving her her own fork/spoon now.
Joshua had a football game.
It was really sunny, so Strawberry Shortcake wouldn't turn around and take a picture.
Joshua is so awesome out there.
Good game!
They won, 6-0 in overtime. Sorry I don't have any good action shots. I guess I got so wrapped up in cheering that I forgot to take many pictures, hehe.
Later, we took our sun-kissed babies to church.
Emily says, "Your bowls?? I'm pretty sure these are my bowls."
The kids played outside a lot. Emily got tired of watching from the window, so I moved her pack-n-play out on the front porch.
She was much happier.
Hehe, she really got a kick out of watching the kids run around out there.
The kids liked it too. :o)
Lego Matthew was back at work.
This time he built a mini-van, a house and and a stove, hehe. :o)
And that's about it. The kids have another Spirit Week at school (Red Ribbon Week), so I'll be sure to take lots of pics. Also it's Report Card time! The kids bring their report cards home tomorrow, so wish them luck! ;o)

Spooktacular
Hello all. What a busy week! We're having really great weather here and enjoying all the Halloween decorations at home and out and about.
Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Thursday:

Friday:
Saturday:
No big plans or projects due this week, so hopefully it'll be nice and easy-ish. Oh - Matthew is dressing up for school this Friday as his favorite storybook character: the Third Little Pig. :o) I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. Have a great week!

Tuesday:
I discovered that Emily can eat crackers. Like, whole ones. Hehe.
She really likes the salty ones best.
She also had a mini photo shoot.
Haha, yeah, she knows she's cute. ;o)
That evening, Joshua had a football game.
Before the game. :o)
The cheerleaders get into position.
Joshua and his team played great and won 20 - 13 (I think.)
He said, "Hold on! Don't take one of me smiling... okay now."
Haha, what a goose.
School, cheerleading practice, church school, busy busy busy. But look what Joshua got!
He got a "Star Student" dog tag for being one of the only students (I think there were 2) to get all of his math done correctly.
He was very proud of himself (and he should be!) Go J!
Thursday:
We spent some time hanging up pictures in the house and getting ready for Booger's visit. Evie said that with the pictures up, it finally feels like our home now, haha. Emily practiced her ninja skills with my yardstick.
She almost took out Matthew's eye when he tried to take it from her, hehe.
Friday:
Booger came into town, so I dragged her all over New Orleans running my errands. And when we left the grocery store, she gave Emily an oreo while we were still in the parking lot!
"Nom nom nom."
She really liked it, and yeah, I think she's hooked now. ;o)
Then after school, we stopped by the Spooktacular Festival on base for a little bit of Halloween fun.
The kids ate popcorn and then tossed bean bags at cans.
And they all won new teeth!
Then they all tried to make the bell ring.
Only Joshua and Evelyn were able to do it, but Matthew got a prize too.
Okay, so there was a Haunted House. And all of the kids wanted to go in. So I told them, "Okay, remember, it's all fake. Nothing is real, it's just for spooky fun, okay?" They said okay, so Chris, the 3 big kids and I started to go in and dude -- they didn't get 2 feet in the door when they all freaked out! Hahaha, yeah, there was a big scary psycho clown right inside that scared all of them and they all ran out!
I tried talking to them and trying to convince them to go back in, that it was fun and fake, but nope, they were done. And when they got scared, I couldn't stop laughing at how excited they were to go in and then how quickly they changed their minds. Haha, oh my poor babies. But no worries, on the way home, Evie told me that she would go with me next time. We shall see. ;o)
Joshua had another football game. His team played at a nearby high school, so we had real bleachers and a neat scoreboard and all, pretty exciting.
And the weather was sooo nice and sooo sunny. Luckily we had this totally awesome umbrella for the kids to hide behind.
Joshua now plays both first-string offense and defense as a front lineman. He doesn't make many plays, but he tries so hard and he's having a good time out there.
He injured his right wrist during the first or second play of the game. I was pretty worried and really wanted Chris to go down and check on him, but he told me to man-up and let J shake it off. Well, Chris was right - our boy shook it off played the whole rest of the game. :o)
They lost this one, and might not be in the playoffs now. But it's all good. :o)
We went out to eat for lunch and Emily proceeded to dance to every song at the Mexican Restaurant, hehe. After Booger left that afternoon, we went to church and then had a pretty laid-back Sunday at the house to round out our weekend.
But speaking of Halloween decorations, check out the lights on the house!
The kids love it!
We now have the orange-est house on the block. :o)
No big plans or projects due this week, so hopefully it'll be nice and easy-ish. Oh - Matthew is dressing up for school this Friday as his favorite storybook character: the Third Little Pig. :o) I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. Have a great week!
