Fools in April

Hello!  This post covers April.  :o)

Emily's so good at being a bunny.

And she won the March coloring contest at the Library!
And got this awesome book as her prize!  Go Emily!

Then we went home and prepared this April Fool's Day treats for the kids.

Dirt cake!
:oD

Ready for Easter.

Nana and Paw Paw came to visit us for Easter weekend.

And we had a great Easter egg hunt that Saturday.

What fun!

Happy Easter!

Yeah, we took the Best Selfie EVER.
:oD :oD :oD

Easter Brunch with Nana & Paw Paw!

:o)

Picture of the kids with their baskets.

Emily was napping.  ;o)

Annual watching of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Happy Easter!  :o)

Spring Break begins.

:o)

Yeah, I came home to find Matthew and Chris doing this in the backyard...

Eek!
:oP

Superstar!

We traveled to Texas to visit our Houston peeps for a few days.
Joshua's floating head pretended to not be impressed. :oP

But we had a really great time.

Chilling at Aunt Becky's beach house.
The midgets doing what they do best.  ;o)

We had a great time at a local cook-off.
:o)

Only one way to get all those fools back to the house.
Ha!

We headed back home on April 12th and met the newest feline member of our family - and although it took us a few days, we eventually found him the perfect name.
Please meet Chewie! (Short for Chewbacca)

He previously belonged to a nice military family who found out they were moving to Guam and could not take him along.  So we adopted this big sweetheart and are so happy to have him around, and not just because he loves to let us pet him, but to keep Ivy company too.  :oD

Later, I found Emily sleeping with this thing on.
Ha!

Ivy's a sweetheart too.
At least when she's sleeping, ha.  :oP

Don't move Emily!  You gotta let those nails dry.  :o)

The girl really loves to put on her play make-up.

Thank goodness we don't leave the house! :oP

On the 15th, the kids all wore purple to school to celebrate the Month of the Military Child.
:oD

So... we got an Instagram account.  Yay!(?) Right? Eh?
Sometimes we take awesome pictures like this -
And I don't really want to bombard Facebook with my kids' faces (or mine!).  So these pics just live in my phone until I can get them onto the blog - and we all know how long that's been taking me these days.  :oP

So I now have a private Instagram that you can follow if you want (and it's free to join for those of you who don't have an account).  All the pics that I share on Instagram will eventually end up on this blog, so if you don't join, you won't miss anything.  But if you want to see them sooner / in real time, just follow us there. :o)

On April 24th, Joshua and Evelyn participated in the middle school's Talent Show.

Act 5 is Joshua Nutt performing "Viva La Vida".

Act 10 is Amanda Gootee performing "Jar of Hearts" accompanied by (some kids) and Evelyn Nutt on flute.  :o)

They both did a most fantastic job.

And I managed to get a good video of Joshua's performance -
Check it out!

I got some video of Evie's too, but it was impossible to hear her flute on it, bleh.

But wow... so very proud of those fools.  So proud.
This wasn't a competitive Talent Show, so no "winner", but they had a wonderful time.
:oD

Daddy and Emily created this beauty.
Butterfly / Mothman.  :oP

So I happened to find this in Walmart one day.
Aaaaaaand it now hangs in my kitchen, ha!  :oD

Science projects were due in May, so the kids spent a lot of time in April experimentin' and stuff.
And they worked together too!

Emily passed out on the floor one night.
And the cats decided to take up watch over her.

Ha, seriously, they laid next to her for about an hour.
:oP

That girl and her play-doh.
But she made a great butterfly.  :o)

I will never get over the fact that Joshua turns into a mini-Chris every single time he puts a hat on his head.
Seriously!

All dem boys.  :oD

And that was April...  and I'll work on May.  :o)

Laters!
