To start off the month, Evelyn and I had a girls day at the mall.
Evelyn tried to make Hot Topic her new and permanent home, but I managed to pry her away - just barely! :oP
:o)
Emily had a hard time adjusting to whole daylight savings thing.
She was up early nearly every morning, wide awake and ready to work out with me. ;o)
We picked up Matthew's new glasses and a couple of new turkeys!
:o)
Matthew wore J's hat and was just too cool for school.
"Wait! Let me do my cool face..."
Ha!
I told the kids this was going to be our Christmas card this year.
They were disappointed when I said I was just kidding. :oP
Evelyn and Joshua's Gifted & Talented in Music group had a small recital on Friday, the 6th.
They both performed really wonderful and great pieces. :o)
Check out the videos!
So proud of these fools. :o)
Yeah, Emily sat down with the cat to pick out Christmas presents that they both would like. :oP
Now that Halloween had passed, Emily became obsessed with Thanksgiving.
This is her "Thanksgiving Feast".
Complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, enough chairs for everyone, and just one green bean.
:oD
She also had to disguise her turkey for school. The directions said to help the turkey hide as a member of your family so they could make it through Thanksgiving alive.
She said that "we are a Cowboys family, but we love cats..." so it's a Cowboys Kitty!
And yep, she even named him.
Kitty Romo :o)
She made me a turkey bookmark. :o)
Uh, so yeah, Evelyn's learning to play the bass guitar now!
:oO
I know! But she's really excited, and can actually play it. Go Evie!
Her turkey obsession is REAL.
On the 11th, Matthew went kayak fishing with Daddy. They didn't catch much, and unfortunately, this is the only picture we got.
Passed out on the way back. :o)
But he had a lot of fun and was happy he got some exercise, even though he got tired of paddling and had to be towed back in by Daddy. ;o)
On the 12th, Emily had a Thanksgiving lunch.
Yes, she turned into a turkey! It was her dream come true.
Later, we visited Matthew at his after school activity - Creative Building.
We were challenged to build the tallest tower we could using spaghetti and marshmallows.
Our design was flawless... ish.
4 levels! And it didn't fall when you shook the table! Go us! :oD
Even Emily did some building.
That boy's so good at this stuff, the teacher said he could definitely be an engineer if wants to one day. :o)
The kids dressed Ivy in Emily's turkey feathers.
She proudly wore them for about 5 minutes.
I visited Matthew's Science class to watch a play that he helped write.
He did the dialogue for all the parts of the cell. Check him out in that pic looking over the script as the other students perform it, probably to make sure they're doing it right. ;o)
Then we created our own cell out of candy and sweet stuff!
And then he ate it.
Ha!
:o)
So, I'm sure everyone knows by now - we will be moving next summer to Charleston, South Carolina!
Chris is advancing (woohoo!) so he is heading to a ship on the east coast. Right after we told the kids, Emily drew this lovely picture of a ship on the water, and it even has a little Daddy sitting on it too. :oD
Sweet girl.
Uh, what?
I believe he said it a gun of some sort, constructed out of pens, pencils and rubberbands, and it shoots too. Oh my... our "engineer" is dangerous! ;o)
No Em, Halloween is over!
I was driving down the street, headed to gymnastics with Emily, when I see some poor kid pushing a huge dolly down the road... I felt bad for him, out there, having to push something so big all the way home for school... then I realized that it was my poor kid!!
What in the world?!
Yeah, Joshua is now playing the Baritone Sax.
And it is so big that they sent him home with it on a dolly! Ahahaha! And yes, he pushes this thing to and from school most days now.
Oh my, that boy is awesome.
We also received this letter inviting him to be a member of BCA's very first saxophone quartet!
Way to go J!
Emily had been walking around with a stuffed baby wolf for a few days. In Walmart, she realized that there was a giant blow-up wolf that looked just like hers!
Very cute. :o)
Look! It's almost as big as he is!
:o)
The kids and Chris participated in a special Military Mass on Wednesday, the 18th.
Sorry, this is the only pic I got. They boys processed in with Chris. :o)
And I also snuck this picture of Evelyn doing a reading.
:o)
Lol!
On the 19th, I took the 3 big kids for their annual check-ups, which they were soooo excited about! *note sarcasm*
Haha - not one of them would smile. But they really were just fine. All in good health, just getting bigger.
Joshua was 5 ft. 5.3 in. tall - with a projected full height of 6 feet!
Evelyn was 5 ft. 11.7 in. tall - with a projected full height of 5' 3"-4".
And Matthew was 4 ft. 8 in. tall - with a projected full height of 5' 10".
:o)
Time for Pali to come to our house again.
:o)
Emily has this sticker book where you can make faces. This is the only one I found. She even labeled it.
Haha! :o)
Oh - and look! Emily was chosen to be the Pre-K Student of the Month!
We are so happy for her! And she is so excited. :o)
On the 20th, Emily celebrated her birthday with her classmates.
She loved that even her chair was decorated.
We brought cupcakes to share with everybody and they sang her Happy Birthday.
:oD
The next day, I took Evelyn and Matthew to see the last Hunger Games movie.
But first ---
Oh yes, these posters should definitely come home with us!
It was a great movie, and Joshua was supposed to go with us, but he was at a sleepover the night before and just couldn't hang. :oP
Whad up my lil gangsta fool?
We tried on pants from last year to see what still fits.
"These fit mom!"
Uh, no. No they don't, but good try. ;o)
Cinderella likes to skip around the house.
And then she took a nap, because being a Princess is hard work.
:o)
We were in Houston later that week for Thanksgiving and to celebrate Emily's birthday.
My lil gansta loved turning 5!
The birthday-madness made them both into fools!
Happy Birthday Emily!
I didn't get many pics of Thanksgiving. :o/
But here's Emmy holding up the sign she made and glued to popsicle sticks so every one knew what day it was.
:o)
All the kids got to spent the night with aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.
And they all had a good time. :o)
That Saturday, the 28th, we had a little party to celebrate Emily's birthday.
And we celebrated her cousin Logan's birthday too. :o)
Such happy faces!
They did a great job.
:o)
Then the next day, it was back to New Orleans.
Where Emily played with lots of new stuff and admired her new singing jewelry box for hours. ;o)
J is still rocking those braces.
He still has a few months left - hang in there J!
And Emily's new birthday coat arrived.
She loves it!
:o)
And that was our Month of the Turkey. Laters!
