Monday:
Like this one!
"I princess." Hehe.
Yes, Princess Emily had a lot of fun running around the house with her cape. Goofball.
This was one those unlucky "pass out on the floor" moments. ;o)
And when it was time to go get the kids, I found a monkey in her stroller.
Well, at least she had him strapped in right. :oP
Sooo, since it was April Fool's Day (and since Pinterest is full of tricks to play on your own children) I decided to have a little fun...
When they got home from school, I had them sit down to enjoy a special treat that I made just for them. (Note how unsuspecting they look. Hehehe...)
I told them that I made them brownies.
Well, I really made them brown E's! Get it? Get it! Lol!
Ahahahaha!!
It was best joke ever. They told me so. :oD
And they were such good sports about it.
Except Emily! - She was upset that Joshua was trying to eat her E!
"No, my E!"
And then I gave them lots of Easter candy bark.
Because of course I wouldn't pull that trick without having a really yummy treat lined up, I'm not that mean. ;o)
But oh - as soon as Daddy got home, they couldn't wait to offer him some "Brown E's".
And they couldn't keep a straight face when doing it either, so he totally knew something was up.
But ahahaha!
Gosh, what a great laugh! Thank you Pinterest! ;o)
And later that evening, we took Evie to gymnastics.
:o)
Tuesday:
Emily and I spent the day grocery shopping, but she must of stayed awake the whole time because I didn't take any pics of her! ;o)
Matthew has started carrying around this little journal.
He writes different ideas, lists and stuff in it. Well, he spent some time outside with his friends the day before, and he shared with me the newest "idea" he invented outside - a recipe for Dirt.
Electric Sweet Devil Dirt
Ingredients: Flowers, Grass, Sticks, Dirt, Black Dirt, Electric Dirt and a Foot Deep/Wide Hole
Directions: Put the Flowers, Grass and Sticks in the Foot Deep/Wide Hole.
Then put the Dirt, Black Dirt and Electric Dirt in the Foot Deep/Wide Hole.
Mix hardly for 3 minutes. Dig in!
Note: This Electric Sweet Devil Dirt dries quickly, so use it up fast! Also, you can put stuff in to make it better!
Lol - Oh, that child! :o)
The kids had church class that afternoon.
And yeah, that's all I remember from that day. So here's a cute pic of Emmy! :oD
Wednesday:
As Daddy was getting ready for work, I guess Emily thought she was going too, because she got her shoes and jacket on, and then asked Evie to zip her up! "Okay, I ready!" :o/
Yeah, there was a bit of a fit and a fight when he left, but we made it all better with some Easter candy.
Forget about that toast - Chocolate makes everything better!
And yes, we made sure the other midgets got some too. :o)
This child's independent streak might just be what drives me batty.
Mommy: Thanks for helping me get the clothes out of the dryer. Now move so I can carry it to the room.
Emily: No! I carry it!
And she did. :oP
And later, I was enjoying a small popcorn snack, so of course, she had to have some too.
I guess it doesn't help that I keep giving in to her, haha. But sometimes, it's so cute! (And yeah, sometimes it's really not, so hmmm, we'll have to see how this whole independent thing develops...) But it's all good! ;o)
Joshua had 2 tests the next day, so he accompanied us to Evie's gymnastics class so we he could study.
And yes, I had him sit in a chair facing away from the floor, that boy gets distracted waaay too easily. :o)
Dude - check out those splits!
Matthew got to play on the computer while we were gone, but since he couldn't play games (school night) he played in Word. And he was sooo excited to show us what he learned!
"Mommy look! I figured out how to do page borders, page colors, and I even made a water mark!" His water mark read: Approved by Pokemon. Haha! Nice Matthew, nice.
(And nice photo-bomb Em. :oP)
Hehe, that girl was being silly in the bath, so I couldn't resist grabbing a pic.
She was dipping her loofah in the cup and then moving it over the sides of the tub, over and over again. When I asked her why, she said, "I paint!" :oO Oh! - The cup was the paint bucket and the loofah was her paintbrush! And she was painting the bath tub! Lol, too cool. :o)
Thursday:
They were all ready for school, waiting for me to finish making lunches, and this is how I found them!
Emily was cuddling with her puppies, so Evie started hugging her and the puppies, and then the boys decided to join in. Yeah, I ran for the camera, haha. :o)
Later that afternoon, Emily worked on straightening her sister's hair.
Then we put on some music so we could clean and get baths done, and man, it was awesome!
My playlist must have been stuck in 70's mode or something, because every song was all Bee Gee'd out! And we taught Emily how to shake her groove thing too! Lots o' fun. :o)
And then dude - look what we got!!
It's The Hobbit movie! Yay!!
And since everybody finished up their homework early, we made popcorn and had a mini movie night.
Because it was a school night, we could only watch for an hour or so (the whole movie is 169 minutes long!), but it was so cool. We love our little Tolkien fans. :o)
Just a couple of quick stretches before bed time. ;o)
Friday:
The kids all had picnics at school as a way to relax before all the big testing next week. And check it out - Evie brought her LEAP shirt home!
Aww, it's so awesome!
She was sooo excited to see her design and her handwriting on the shirt. (Emphasis hers.) :o)
I said, "So you wrote all the words?" She said, "Yes! And the numbers too, and I drew the clock." I said, "So what did your friend do?" She said, "She drew the 4th grader." Our girl is so cool. :o)
Later, we took her to softball practice, because yes - practice is on Fridays! Which, at first, might not seem ideal, but we were seriously pretty happy about it - that's one of the only days we have free! ;o)
They'll probably add another practice time during the week, but that's cool. Emily really loved watching her sister practice. She even got out her kitty-cat camera so she could take pictures!
Lol, yeah, I kept trying to get pics on my phone, so Emily dug through her purse until she found her camera so she could help me. :o)
I really didn't get any good ones.
But she worked really hard out there and always hustled to stop that ball.
Last year they played "coach-pitch", and this year they switch to "player-pitch". So yeah, those 10 year olds are going to be throwing softballs at our little girl! (eek!) Our pitcher only hit her once (!) in the ankle, but yeah, we've warned Evelyn to practice her ducking skills. ;o)
Batter up!
Oh - and they don't have a team name yet, but they're colors are Hot Pink and Navy Blue. That's cute, right?? I thought so. But Evie was disappointed, "The pink team we played last year was really mean and they beat us twice! I don't like pink." Hahaha. Guess she'll have to get over that! ;o)
The boys played games while we were away, but happily set them aside as soon as we got home so we could finish our movie night. :o)
We spent a nice day at home, doing a whole bunch of nothing.
Emily and Daddy got down to some serious car business in the garage.
"Yeah, I'm a maniac. So what? Where's my mask?" :oP
Joshua, Lord of the Beyblades.
Seriously every kid from around the block comes over to battle with those boys.
"Mom look! I can ride on a skateboard!"
Bahaha! Yeah, he went all up and down the road proudly "riding a skateboard". :oD
And Evelyn played kickball with her friends. I don't know if you can really see her, but she's right in the middle, rolling the ball to the kicker.
We were having too much fun the day before, so we decided to go to early Mass on Sunday (instead of our normal Saturday Mass.) And man, it's a good thing we did because when we got there, we realized they had no altar servers! (Another team just didn't show up! :o/)
But not to fear - Joshua and Evie are here!
They stepped up and were the only 2 servers!
Wow - impressive. Most impressive.
And then - Daddy, Matthew, Emily and I were asked to bring up the gifts!
So yeah, God may have had a little say in how all that worked out. :oD
Needless to say, we were all feeling so happy and so blessed when we left church, so we decided to go out for lunch. Yay!
We took those fools to that awesome chinese buffet place, and they loved it!
They all got to have pizza and crawfish and chicken on a stick and french fries. I can't remember the last time we took them to a buffet (Seattle maybe?) but man, they just couldn't get over how "awesome" it was to go get more! Hehe, yeah, I think this is one of those special things we'll only do every once in a while. ;o)
And of course, they loved that they all got their own fortune cookie.
Their fortunes -
Joshua: Never ignore a gut feeling, but never believe that it's enough.
Evelyn: It is much easier to be critical than to be correct.
Matthew: Memories make what we are. Dreams make what we'll be.
and Emily: May you grow rich.
:o)
And after a quick stop at Target, where we got Em some new shoes, we headed home to enjoy the rest of the day.
Gosh, there's always so many kids out there!
Still trying to wake up from her cat nap.
Then she modeled her new shoes for us.
:o)
And then she did some lunges and some stretching to make sure they worked.
Lol! She loves them. :o)
And there's Joshua!
Running in long enough to check-in, grab his Pokemon cards, and run back out. ;o)
And that was our week! It was kinda nice to not have any big plans or anything big going on. I know that with the upcoming softball season and stuff it won't stay that way, but we're cool with that. We can DO it! ;o) The kids all have testing this week, so we're making sure to get them to bed on time and I'm doing lots of cooking in the mornings. :oP Haha, but the kids are pretty much homework-free, so they should get lots of time to play outside during the week, so it's all good. I hope everyone's having a great week!
Laters!
