All About That Bass

Hi there!  So yeah, it's already May!  Eek!  :oO  That month went by fast. Okay, here's our latest and greatest. :o)

On the way to school on Monday the 18th...
I guess somebody partied too hard over the weekend.  ;o)

Joshua with his 8th grade class shirt.

Yes, this poor little guy on the shirt is "dabbing".  These midgets are obsessed with dabbing at everything, all the time.  Crazy fools. :oP  ;o)

:o)

On Tuesday the 19th, Emily had a little Tree Planting Ceremony at her school.
That's her in the back performing a poem about trees.

And they all got to shovel some dirt to help plant the tree.

After that, they (we) went on a Field Trip to the Longue Vue House and Gardens.
Emily had a fantastic time!

She got to plant red beans in the garden.
She also explored for bugs using a giant magnifying glass.

Then she got to select plants for her own mini-garden that she built herself.

And, of course, Emily had to supervise her friend when she tried to help.
;o)

Then she dug for worms!  :oO

And then she touched a worm!!
Aaaaaahh!

Okay, check out this short video of her and this nasty little worm.
(Please ignore my squeals, made mostly for her benefit... mostly.  :oP)

After washing her hands (several times) we had a lovely picnic lunch.

Why are all those boys chasing her??  >:o|  ;o)

:o)

On Friday the 22nd, Evelyn participated in the school Talent Show.

And Dude.  Yeah.
I did not may have cried a little watching this girl on that stage.
Wow.

Her friend sang vocals while Evie rocked the bass.
Here's the video of the performance.

You'd think that at some point these fools would cease to amaze us and we'd reach a maximum level of pride watching them carry out such extraordinary feats... but yeah, no, I don't think that will ever happen with this bunch.  :oD

Her friend made her a bass out of recyclable materials. :o)

Joshua made a dude out of recyclable materials too.
He named him Egg.  He lives on my coffee table.  (for now...)  ;o)

That Saturday, we all went to the movies to see Zootopia (finally!)
It was very funny and we had a great time.
(And we are so excited for Finding Dory to come out!)

While packing, we found my old high school graduation cap.
So we took this quick cute pic right before I threw that bad boy away. :oD

Guess who got new shoes!
Actually all the kids did, but Emily's the only one that posed for me.  :oP

So on Thursday the 28th, Joshua was really excited about the NFL Draft.
Like seriously.  Emily and I were at my Book Club Meeting at the library on base, and I start getting these texts from Joshua.
Lol!

Since he got the NFL Mobile App last year, he now knows everything there is to know about every team and player out there!  I came home to find him on the couch like this.
And by the way, yes - he was happy with the Cowboys picks, although he was really hoping we would select Jalen Ramsey over Ezekiel Elliott.  I think he's crazy.  Elliott #1!!  ;o)

The girl came home from school Friday excited for the sleepover she was having with her best friend at our house.

And oddly enough, Evelyn's friend's little brother is one of Matthew's really good friends, so he came over for a sleepover too!
This was Matthew's first sleepover at our house, and yeah, they were like this most of the time.  ;o)  And somehow Matthew's face managed to evade my camera lens these past 2 weeks... my bad.  :oP  I'll be sure to sneak up on him a lot over the next few weeks.  ;o)

We updated our fridge calendar with all of our May events, and man, it's going to be a crazy month!
More packing, lots of parties, and Joshua is leaving on his 8th grade field trip to Chicago this coming Wednesday!! (May 4th)  :oO  Eek!!!
Y'all pray for that child's safety (and for my poor heart).  ;oP

This girl's getting too big, and too smart.

And too good at blowing bubbles!
Yeah, no more Bubble Yum for this girl.  She was way too excited that she could make bubbles that big.  Ha!  :oD

And that's the rest of our April.  Like I mentioned, we are still packing away. And if you haven't heard - we got a house in South Carolina!  And it's in a great school district and we're sooooo excited and thankful for that!  :oD Chris' work has him super-busy right now, but he's doing very well and planning to fly back the first weekend in June to load us up.

Talk to y'all laters!  :o)
