And we got their school pictures! Check out our cutie pies:
:o) They did a really great job. Joshua was having a really hard time with his smile that morning, and kept trying to practice and do it right. I told him not to worry, to just think of something funny. When it was time for his pic, he said, "I couldn't think of anything funny, so I just smirked." What?? Haha, I didn't know what to expect, but I'm glad that to see that it turned out well. :o)
Monday:
Emily has decided that she can talk.
She now says Dora, me, no, mine, and Dad-ee! Yeah, Chris took something from her the other day, and she screamed "Mine!" And I was just shocked, because I have purposely never used that word with her. I wasn't sure where she got it from, until the next day when I saw Evelyn take her book from Emily and say, "Mine." at her!! Aaarrgh, that girl. So I sat all the big kids down and let them know that they are to never use that word around her again. (I might've threatened them with grounding or something too.) And I haven't heard it since. :o) Emily also tries to repeat anything I tell her. I got her to say "Oh man!" Haha.
And, of course, she's still keepin' busy. :o)
Tuesday:
Not much going on, all the kids had clubs after school and Emily jammed out in the car on the way to the store.
Emily helped me water the plants.
She's such a nerd because she'll bring me her little watering can, so I put a little water in it. But then she seems to purposely water the porch until all the water's gone. THEN she holds the watering can over the plant and shakes out the last few drops over it. :o)
Daddy and Emily were watching a show, so I got the kids from school, came back and found them like this.
Hehe, guess it was nap time. ;o)
And yeah, I guess I forgot to take more pictures of the big kids this week, my bad. But like I said, the kids didn't have a lot of homework going on, so they just played a lot, and they all had church school that evening.
And eww, know what else those boys did when they played outside? They started catching lizards! Yes. And then they kept asking me if they could keep them as pets! Eww, seriously?! "But Mommy, I could keep it in a little box upstairs in my room, and Emily won't get it, I promise." No, Matt-dog, no lizards. Bleh.
Thursday:
All the kids took a trip to the dentist and we have zero cavities! Yay!
Friday:
Quick pic before school. Evelyn and Matthew got to wear their spirit shirts (poor J had a little ding on his conduct, so he was the odd man out.) But they were all excited for Friday.
Awwww!
Later, Emily tried on Evelyn's new shoes for Easter.
"I think these fit, Mom. Can I have them?"
Later, she tried to paint her toenails.
Haha, she recently discovered a bunch of Evelyn's fake make-up and hair toys and just loves them. She tries to brush her hair, put on lotion, put the eyeshadow brush in her ear, looks in the compact mirrors, and now this. Sometimes Evelyn plays with her too. So cute!
That night we had a mini-movie night. We watched the Lego Adventures of Clutch Powers (on DVR) and ate lots of popcorn. :o)
We went to an Easter Egg Hunt!
The base had an Easter egg hunt for all the kids, so we gathered up our baskets and went on over.
:o)
Emily kept carrying her basket around like this, haha.
They divided the kids up by age, oldest first, and had them out in a labeled and sectioned-off field. So I wasn't able to get any pics of the big kids hunting, but they got a lot of eggs.
Go Evelyn!
But we did get to go out there to help Emily.
And it was so cute!
She was shaking the eggs and throwing them in her basket, and then sometimes she would change her mind and take them back out, haha.
"Dude, I'm a pro!"
Nerd. :o)
Later, they got to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Emily was not so sure that was a good idea.
Here is the final pic:
Hehehe. :o) She was very happy to get down.
Then they gave out hot dogs and chips, and even had free bowling! And Emily got to try her first whole hot dog!
I've always cut it up for her, but she ignored the pieces I tore off, and picked up the whole thing. She was seriously opening her mouth really big and just loving it!
What a great Easter practice! :o)
Then we played outside for a while. (The hunt was in the morning.)
Emily loves chasing the kids around out there.
:o)
She was really funny because she would walk out to the playground, sit down for about 10 seconds, then get up and walk back to the house and sit with me on the porch for 10 seconds, then get up and walk back to the playground.... over and over and over again. Little nerd.
Later, we went to church.
Can you tell they got a lot of sun that day?
"Okay, now make a funny face."
Emily: Uhhh......y'all are weird. :o)
Sunday:
Just another lazy day. Joshua had an Altar Servers luncheon and meeting. I stayed for a little while, and then he asked me, "Mom, are you leaving yet?" Haha, a lot of the other parents didn't stay with their kids, so I guess he was waiting on me to go too. No problem J. I let him stay and enjoy himself, and when I picked him up, he said that he made a lot of new friends and that he really likes to play kickball. :o)
I was ironing school clothes, so Emily got one of the kids' uniform shirts and kept trying to put it on. Chris finally helped her out, and as soon as she had it on, she got in her car.
"This means I can go to school now, right?" Uh, no. Hey Emily - let's not rush Mommy into anything she's not ready for, okay? Thanks. ;o)
Matthew helped out in the kitchen for a while.
Lately, all the kids want to help. They want to crack the eggs, or stir, or wash the fruit, etc. They are really sweet and I try to let them do as much as a I can. Yeah, obviously, there are times when they all just need to get out of the kitchen, but they're cool most of the time. :o)
And that's it. Oh - and I completely forgot to share this picture when we got it (maybe a month ago). My bad, but check it out:
Aww, it's the picture they had made at the Daddy-Daughter Masquerade. So cute! :o)
Wow, 2 easy-going weeks in a row. I dare not hope for another, haha. Matthew has a field trip on Wednesday and a First Grade Egg Hunt on Friday, so he's really excited about this week. Evie has Cheer practice on 3 afternoons (instead of 1) because they're getting ready for a big Pep Rally. And then Easter will be here! Hope y'all all have a great Easter!! Maybe we can make it in to town next year. Have a great week! :o)
Laters!
