Monday:
Somehow this is the only picture I have for that day, haha. It's from one of Joshua's standardized test practice worksheets. And ohmygosh - I laughed so hard!
"Oprah and Phyllis were students at the same school. Phyllis chose to drop out of high school. Oprah chose to graduate from high school. Neither teenager had ever worked before. Oprah and Phyllis applied for the same job at a store. Oprah got the job. Why?
A. It is a national law that high school dropouts cannot get a job.
B. Oprah had more knowledge and skills than Phyllis had.
C. Phyllis had a poor work record.
D. Oprah had worked at the store before."
Ahahaha! Isn't that just awful?! And on the Louisiana state test!! So sad, but I guess they have to make sure kids know graduating is kinda, like, important, or something like that. :oP Well, at least Joshua got it right! Lol.
Tuesday:
There was a really pretty sunrise, so I was outside taking pics. The kids wanted to see too and then they were all, "Ooh, take my picture with it too!" :o)
Silly kids. :o)
Emily likes grapes A LOT.
Yes, she's sitting there eating a whole plate of chopped-up grapes. And yes, because she can't quite chew them yet, I had to chop up each individual grape for her. All in a day's work!
Wednesday:
Quick pic of my girl on the walk to school, just cuz she looked so cute.
:o)
Emily and I made a quick trip to the mall because Mommy needed a new special shirt for Buzzfest. However, she's been carrying these 2 baby dolls around everywhere. So when it was time to go I asked her, "Which baby do you want to take?" and of course, she grabbed them both.
A few minutes later, she put them down, so I stuck them both on the couch, just hoping she would forget about them both. But nope - right as I was walking out the door, she came walking from the living room like this, and I just died laughing, so I took a quick pic.
Thank goodness she only ended up taking one doll into the store.
Taking a much needed nap after so much shopping! ;o)
And man, she was just stubborn that day! When it was time to go get the kids, she was determined to wear this hat!
I took it off her head, threw it on the couch, and ran to get my sunglasses, and when I got back, she was wearing it again! I grabbed the camera, took it off her head again, threw it on the ground, and she leaned over, grabbed it, and stuck it back on her head. So yes, she wore it all the way to school! Grrr, I don't know where she gets it. *rolls eyes* ;o)
Okay, so I got a new attachment-thingy for my camera called a Lightscoop. And basically it's a mirror for your flash that lights up the whole room when you take pictures. Check it out --
Not bad, right? I like it a lot, but then sometimes I feel like my pictures just look funny. I don't know, it might take some getting used to. But it sure makes her look cute on the kitchen floor, right? :o)
Thursday:
It was the kids' last day of school before Spring Break, so they all got to dress in whatever they wanted.
Joshua completed his LEAP testing on Tuesday, and Evie her practice LEAP, so these last couple of days where full of movies and treats for them.
Emily likes to read and often brings us books to read to her. Unfortunately she doesn't wait for us to finish a book, or even a page, before she grabs another book and puts it in our hands. Oh - and she really thinks she can talk! She repeats a lot of words, and can say chips, baba (bottle), what sounds like "pup-pup" when she sees a dog, and she even said Wae and Nick while we were in Houston.
When the kids got home from school, they helped me make cookies.
And then those boys licked the beaters. Nerds. :o)
And when Chris got home from work, Emily made up a new game where she runs (toddles) down the hallway and he catches her and throws her in the air.
So cute!
Friday:
We were pretty much all packed up for Houston the night before, so we got on the road bright and early.
Maybe too bright and early, because these two were out before the first hour.
It was an easy trip with almost no traffic, and we got into town just before all that rain came through, so go us.
Saturday:
Chris and I went to Buzzfest!
We haven't been to a concert in over 2 years, so this was just awesome. We saw Korn, Evans Blue (who I got to meet!!), Evanescence, Band of Skulls, and a bunch of other great (and a few not-so-great) bands.
Love this. :o)
And yep - we spent the whole day away from the kids!
And Emily survived! Haha, yeah, Liz and Jen sent me lots of cell phone pics so I could make sure she was alright, and man, those kids had a great day too!
They went out to eat for lunch and had ice cream.
And then they went to the movies to see The Lorax, where dude, Emily ate whole popcorn. Like, not just the ballies, but the whole thing! She also slept through half the movie, haha.
And then they all had hot dogs.
Yeah, maybe we should do that again sometime. ;oD
Sunday:
I don't have many pics from this day.
Cute nerd. :o)
After church, we just hung out with everybody.
Including the Green Lantern. Haha, she had a ring too.
The kids hung out and played catch with their cousins, and Emily attempted to climb the playset.
Yeah, I don't think she was too sure about that, haha.
And Joshua made good use of the new Joshua-sized chair next to Epa's chair. :o)
Laters!
