Monday:
Wow, I honestly don't remember much about Monday. Of course, I know I did the blog, and I think Joshua had a lot of homework, but that's it. Haha. Oh well.
Tuesday:
I finished some bibs for Aunt Nene's boys, and Emily eagerly modeled them for me.
"Mom, make sure you get my good side." :o)
All the kids had after-school clubs, and then dinner, homework, and bedtime.
Emily likes to give the kids good night kisses. :o)
And yeah, poor Joshua had a LOT of homework last week.
So he had to stay up a little past bedtime to finish it up. He's preparing to take the LEAP test again, but this time it's the Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies sections. Bleh. He's testing from April 12-17th. But he really knows what he's doing, so go Joshua!
Wednesday:
Wow, no pictures from Wednesday either, my bad. The kids didn't have church school, but Evie had cheerleading practice until 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Oh - and Emily now says go, cheese, shoes, and shhh. She even puts her finger over her lips, and sometimes in her nose, when she makes the "shhh" sound. :o)
Thursday:
Emily weighed herself on the Wii.
Haha, that little nerd. I've been doing a little working out around the house lately, and that girl has become my little copycat. She watches me and then tries to do it all too - stretching, push-ups, squats, etc. And then sometimes, she'll try to lay down on me if I'm doing floor work, or worse, tries to balance her sippy cup or toys on my back!
Yeah, the Wii told her that she's overweight and that it can't find her center of balance because she won't be still, haha, nerd! :o)
Friday:
Bunny ears!
We finally got some Easter stuff out (couldn't find the box!) so all the kids were eager to take pics with the bunny ears. :o)
And check out my cute cheerleader all ready for her big Pep Rally at school. Woohoo, go Evie! (And try not to notice her farmer's tan, haha! Like I've said, she spends a LOT of time outside. Guess I should make sure she wears more sleeveless shirts.) :o)
The Easter Bunny and I went to pick up the kids from school.
They all came home with lots of goodies from their Easter parties and an egg hunt.
By the way, this shirt is one of Evelyn's favorites (and mine!) :o)
So yep, she's now in the habit of weighing in on the Wii every time that I do.
And no, she's not actually doing anything with that remote, she just thinks she is. :o)
Later, she hung out and watched some Quantum Leap with me on the computer while I did a bunch of ironing.
What's funny is how she recognizes and dances to the intro theme music from my favorite radio and TV shows. She heard this show start, and came in the room to dance until it was over. Then she left, got her bottle, came back, and tried to climb into the chair by herself. Silly goose. :o)
Matthew and Evelyn played outside all day long.
He's catching lizards all the time now and is still asking if he can keep them for pets. "I'll keep it outside and won't bring it in and I'll feed it bugs and give it a little cup of water too!" :op I finally let him keep one on the porch, "just until night time", but it escaped during dinner. And I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but he is filthy from digging in the dirt with his friends. What a boy! ;o)
Joshua played outside too, but of course, he tended to his video game habit too.
"J, for the 10th time, scoot back!"
And Emily practiced her light saber skills. :o)
We dyed eggs that night before bed.
The kids had a lot of fun, even though Emily kept trying to help. Poor baby, maybe she can try next year. But she was much happier once we let her have a couple of eggs.
They did a great job, and even Daddy helped out and decorated a couple of special ones for them. :o)
Easter Sunday:
Happy Easter!
We gave the kids their Easter baskets before church, but I completely forgot to take pictures of them, my bad. But Emily got these little wind-up Easter toys in her basket, and she loves them!
The kids also got a bunch of goodies and cards from our family, and they say, "Thanks!!" :o)
Ready for church!
Emily wouldn't stand still for me to get an individual shot of her. :ob
I love those midgets. :o)
Just the girls.
Awwww. :o)
And the boys. :o)
As soon as we got home from church, we had our egg hunt!
And Emily is seriously a pro! :o)
We took Em out first and told the big kids to count to 30 and then come out.
Yeah, they flew out of the house, haha.
It looks like she's sitting on the grass, but she's totally squatting, hehe.
:o)
The kids wanted to eat their eggs right away, so we made some toast and had "Brunch".
Yeah, so I found this wacky idea on Pinterest, and really didn't think it would work out well.
You empty egg shells, like for confetti eggs, but then you fill them with cake or brownie batter and bake them in the oven. And dude -- They totally turned out great!
The kids and Chris loved them and gobbled them right up! Woohoo! I know what I'm doing again for Easter next year. :o)
We spent the rest of the day watching Jesus Christ Superstar and playing outside.
The Easter bunny came out to play too.
:o)
Evie's new friend is a softball player, so she spent hours teaching Evelyn the basics. So sweet! (By the way, we signed all the kids up to play baseball, so the season should be starting soon, we'll let you know.) :o)
Matthew and his friend spent the day catching bugs and lizards.
Chris was out there playing football with them. (I think this is him "tackling" Joshua.)
And then he gave Emily flying lessons. :o)
And yay, what a great Easter! Later, we had lots of fish, potatoes, deviled eggs, and brownies for dinner. And we really wish that we could've been home, but we had such a great time, so it's okay, maybe next year. :o) The kids bring home their progress reports tomorrow, and J starts his big test later this week, so keep your fingers crossed that they all do well. I hope everybody had a great Easter and has a great week!
Laters!
